Real User Monitoring
The Site Overview Dashboard shows you the revenue and page speed performance of your site in real time. To get a high-level glance of how your site is doing, this is the place to look. Also, this is what you’ll see when you first login to the Blue Triangle Portal.
The Revenue Opportunity page is where you can analyze the top pages on your site (by traffic) and quantify the amount of additional revenue you would make if you were to increase page speed. This report allows you to see clearly how page speed correlates to revenue on your site. You’ll notice some pages where performance impacts revenue significantly while others may have no correlation. With this information, you can avoid wasting time and effort speeding up areas of your site where there’s no performance to revenue correlation; and instead focus your efforts on what ultimately benefits the business most.
The Marketing Insights Module allows you to track your marketing campaigns, and more generally it can be used for analyzing the paths your customers take on the site. The Marketing Overview page allows you to see a high-level view of how your top marketing campaigns are performing in terms of conversions, revenue, bounce rate, exit rate, page speed and more. Also, the Customer Journey Analysis page gives you a breakdown of the paths your customers are taking including how those individual paths are performing and which are contributing to the most revenue.
The Real User Performance Detail page allows you to see your site performance from a high-level overview all the way down to individual visitor sessions and page views. The top of the page shows high-level averages and trends for your performance metrics over your selected time period. As you move down the page you get the ability to dive in deeper into the data with scatter plots for visitor sessions and page views. Clicking on a page view in the scatter plot opens even more analysis for that individual page view – you can see the performance breakdown, domain and object level waterfall and more.
Synthetic Monitoring
To get started with Synthetic Monitoring in Blue Triangle, set up your synthetic monitors by going to the Synthetic Monitors page. Here you can create and manage all of your synthetic monitors. Make sure to whitelist our synthetic agents IP Addresses to prevent 403 or other errors.
For help setting up synthetic monitors, please see the following guides:
- How to Create a Single-Page Synthetic Monitor
- How to Create a Multi-Step Synthetic Monitor
- Requirements for Creating Selenium Scripts
- How to Create and Upload a Selenium Script in the Blue Triangle Portal
Once you've deployed your monitors, you’ll begin to see the synthetic data in the portal within 1-2 hours or less.
To monitor your measurements in a real-time dashboard, here are two helpful views to get you started:
- The Synthetic Site Health Dashboard shows you an overview of your site from the synthetic data including an availability trend, live scatter plot and the latest screenshot of the site. Here you can click on the scatter plot points to drill into more detail on specific tests.
- The Synthetic Performance Overview page shows you an overview of your synthetic monitors’ status. Here you can see a performance and availability trend for each active monitor. Also, you can click on the monitor to drill into for more detail.
To dig into historical synthetic data, here are two great pages for deeper analysis:
- The Synthetic Performance Detail page shows you everything from performance and availability over time graphs to a scatter plot of measurements you can drill into for deeper analysis into individual tests. It’s the best page to use for historical analysis and investigating issues with performance and availability over time.
- Alternatively, the Test Results page gives you a simple record of all of your synthetic tests in a table. You can click into each row for test run details.
Aggregate Waterfall
While the Performance Detail Page can show us the object and domain level detail for a single page measurement, the Aggregate Waterfall Page shows us this information aggregated over time. There’s both a RUM and Synthetic Version of this page, and we invite you to learn more by following along with our guides:
Data Science
The “Data Science Insights” page is a powerful graph creation tool which provides insightful data with just a few clicks. In addition, it allows for side-by-side comparisons to better deep-dive into your site’s data. To get started with Data Science, here’s a few helpful guides:
Tag & Content Governance
The Tag and Content Governance Module is your home for 1st and 3rd party content management and analytics. Start with the Tag Governance Overview page where you’ll see all first and 3rd party services, domains and files on your site, as well as SLA Violations, Top Issues and more.
Next, the Inventory Analysis page allows you to see all content on your site, and more importantly how much each tag is costing you due to performance.
You can manage your content by creating Service Profiles. On this page you can add information such as contractual details, a business owner, technical contact, and Service-Level Agreements (SLA’s) for monitoring.
For help configuring SLA’s for your services, watch our guide How to Create a Service Profile and SLA.
Services & CSP Management
The Services and CSP Management Module gives you the ability to build, deploy and monitor a CSP on your site. Here you can inventory and approve or reject domains, create a domain whitelist, create a CSP and ultimately monitor your site for domain whitelist and CSP violations.
Start with the Services & CSP Management Overview page. Here you can view the status of your data collection, the domain approval process and the CSP creation and implementation process.
Then, the CSP Manager page is your tool for actually creating and managing your CSP’s.
Issue Tracker
Blue Triangle’s Issue tracker is machine learning software that is constantly monitoring your site for issues. When it detects a new issue, it will automatically create a card in the Kanban board. Some of these issues also appear in other areas of the portal, such as the Tag Governance and CSP Management overview pages.
Custom Dashboards
Blue Triangle offers a variety of pre-configured dashboards for you as soon as you log in. If you’re interested in customizing your dashboards further, you can create new custom dashboards and add widgets using our dashboard manager. For instructions on creating custom dashboards, please see our guide How to Create Custom Dashboards. For more information on dashboarding in Blue Triangle, we invite you to watch our product training session “Dashboarding 101: How to Build Robust Dashboards Inside Blue Triangle.”
Alerts
The Alerts Module is where you can configure and manage your alerts. Here you can schedule notifications to be sent whenever a site metric meets specified conditions. These alerts can be sent to multiple recipients through email, Slack, or SMS, and they can be customized with graphs and custom text. For help on getting started with alerts, please see our guide How to Create and Manage Alerts.
In our solution, there are a few types of alerts and notifications:
- Alerts
- Standard, Rules-Based Alerts
- Synthetic Error State Tracking Notifications
- Missing Services Alerts
- Notifications
- System Generated Issues

Notifications, different than alerts here, can be enabled or disabled in your profile.
Reports
The Reports section of the portal allows you to create automated reports that go straight to your inbox. You get to choose what information you want to receive and how often you want to receive it. For more information on creating and managing reports in Blue Triangle, please see our guide How to Create a Report.
