User and Account Management
After completing your purchase online, you’ll receive an email with a link to log into the Blue Triangle Portal.
Once you log in, you can make other Blue Triangle users for your team using the Users page. For more information, please see our guide How to Create and Manage Users in Your Account.
For your reference, you can login to the Portal here: https://portal.bluetriangle.com/. The Portal is where you’ll be able to manage your real user and synthetic monitoring analytics.
Once you log in and get comfortable, the next thing you’ll want to do is get your data collection up and running.
Initiating Data Collection
Real User Monitoring
Implement the Blue Triangle Tag on your site
For us to begin collecting data, you’ll need to add the Blue Triangle Tag to your site. Implementation is a quick and easy process and requires just one source include line. For instructions, please see one of the following guides:
- How to Implement the Blue Triangle Tag in Google Tag Manager
- Implementing the Blue Triangle Tag Without a Tag Manager
Note: To find your custom tag name, go to the Sites page. It will be listed in the “Tag Prefix” column.
We’ll begin collecting data as soon as the Blue Triangle tag is on your site. You can watch the data ramp up on the Site Overview Dashboard.
Page Naming
The next important step in initiating data collection is page naming. This is where you can define the naming methodology you use for the pages on your site. Here are two very helpful resources on getting started with page naming in Blue Triangle.
Page Naming isn’t required to be done before the tag is deployed on the site, but it does make things easier. The data will be closer to how you like it from the start. Without any configured page naming rules, all pages will be marked as “Unnamed_Page,” so be sure to do this as soon as you can.
Revenue Data Collection
Blue Triangle relies on revenue data collection for revenue opportunity calculations and other key reports and analytics. In order to configure your revenue collection, be sure to define the Purchase Confirmation Page Name and Thank You Page Collection Variable inside the Site Configuration.
Synthetic Monitoring
Setting up your synthetic monitors
To get started with Synthetic Monitoring in Blue Triangle, head on over to the Synthetic Monitors page. This is where you can create and manage all of your synthetic monitors. Make sure to whitelist our synthetic agent IP Addresses to prevent 403 or other errors.
At Blue Triangle we have a variety of synthetic monitors:
- Real-browser
- Single-Page
- Multi-step
- Lightweight, API Testing
- Base Page & SSL
- Multi-Step API (JMeter)
For instructions on setting up synthetic monitors, please see the following guides:
- How to Create a Single-Page Synthetic Monitor

Depending on the synthetic scheduling you’ve configured, you’ll begin to see your synthetic data in the portal within 1-2 hours or less. You can watch the measurements in real-time on the Synthetic Site Health Dashboard or the Synthetic Performance Overview.
