Overview:
This document outlines the Blue Triangle (BT) tag insertion and implementation process.
Table of Contents:
Implementation Process Steps:
-
Identify location on the web page to place the tag.
-
Add the single source include line to each web page.
- Verify.
Step 1 - Identify location on the web page to place the tag.
We recommend that you place the tag in a common footer that will be included with every web page to be measured.
Note: Keep in mind the btt.js file is very small (usually under 3.5K compressed) and downloads asynchronously so that the page load time perceived by your users is not affected or delayed.
Step 2 - Add the tag to your site.
The source include line is provided below:
<script async="true" type="text/javascript" src="//COMPANYID.btttag.com/btt.js"></script>
Step 3 - Verify.
Once you have the tag installed on the page, you should be able to load it with a browser.
Note: By default, we suggest adding our tag to every page on the site and we will collect 100% of the traffic for business correlation. (This can be turned up or down without further changes to the code on the customer’s site.)
Additional Tag Info
The JS tag is included on the first page of a session, then cached. Each page with a reference to the BT Tag, JS source included, will be measured. Because of this, it should be placed on a common footer file. Measured pages will send back a simple post including performance and sales data after the Onload event.
