What are the site alerts under the bell icon in Blue Triangle? Are they all relevant to me?

Site alerts are distinct from configurable alerts that will email you. Site alerts are meant to let you know when something significant is happening in your data. These categories are:

• Rules Based Alerts,
• Domain Whitelist Violations,
• CSP Violations, and
• Error State Alerts
  

Each category deals with different parts of Blue Triangle and will take you to the relevant section when clicked.

The Rules Based Alerts are the same as the configurable alerts that will email you. If there is a number listed in this category, that will be the number of configured alerts that are currently sensing a violation of their configured thresholds.

The Domain Whitelist Violations tell you when a domain that is not in your whitelist shows up on a page of the site in either RUM or Synthetic data. CSP Violations are similar, letting you know about content from different endpoints that attempted to load on a site but was unable due to the CSP actively in place on the site. The main difference is that a whitelist gives you visibility into content that you would not like to load on the page, while a CSP will actively block content that you would not like to load on the page.

Error State Alerts deal with synthetic data on your site. If a synthetic monitor is currently erroring, it's considered to be in an "error state" and will trigger this alert type.

It is possible that not all of these alert types will be relevant to you. To change which site alerts show up in your Blue Triangle login, go to your edit user profile and scroll to the bottom section called "In Portal Alert Notifications". The toggles in this section control which of these site alerts will show up under the bell icon.
