What is a Post-Process Data Filter and when does it take effect?

Post-Process Data Filter has the ability to modify Traffic Segment, Page Group, and Page Name fields AFTER the data has been collected with the tag, but BEFORE it hits the database. To introduce a new Post-Process Data Filter, please reach out to your Blue Triangle representative.

We can use filter string recognition on the following to modify any of these filter options:

• IP
• IP Range
• User Agent String
• URL
• Traffic Segment
• Page Group
• Page Name

We also allow you to flag traffic recognized this way as a bot (or by default, not a bot) as required!

A unique feature of Post-Process Data Filter is that it can allow you to REPLACE, APPEND, or PREPEND any of the above mentioned filters (Traffic Segment, Page Group, or Page Name). One example would be the flexibility to recognize traffic based on a specific URL pattern (perhaps country code) and APPEND that country code to the current Traffic Segment.
