How do I Use the Real User Aggregate Waterfall Page?
Domain Level Activity Graph
The first thing you’ll see on this page is the Domain Level Activity Graph.
- This graph is formatted as a waterfall, depicting the amount of time each domain was loading on average during the time period.
- You can also view this data in a table format, by clicking between the graph and table icons.
- This way, you’ll see an icon next to each domain allowing you to open the trend of that particular domain.
Object Level Detail Graph
This graph shows the amount of time each object call spent loading, on average, during the time period. Switch between this graph and the Domain Level Activity Graph by clicking these tabs at the top of the page.
- If you switch to the table view, again you will see an icon next to the object, which will show you the trend of this item over time.
- Items will appear colored based on where they tend to load in the order of events, during the full page load. You can see in the legend how this is shown.
Resource Timings Table
If you scroll to the bottom of the page, you can see a table showing the resource timings by file.
- Here we can see which domain each resource belongs to, how many times this resource was observed (or element count), and more timing information.
Running Comparisons
Back to the top of the page, you will see a “Run Comparison” button.
- This enables you to compare the aggregate waterfall for two different time periods.
- To do this, click the button and change the date for comparison. You’ll be comparing against the data already on the page.
- Once you have your new time period and filtering selections ready, click Apply Filters for Comparison.
- The comparison graph will load to the right.
- We also see a summary in the middle showing What’s Changed.
- Below are two tables, one showing the duration for each item and the other showing the element count for each item.
- You can see this comparison both from the Domain perspective and the Object Level perspective.
